So I was writing a small paper in Microsoft Word and the program suddenly crashed (I saved a couple minutes before, thank god) and I get this message in the corner of my screen two seconds afterward
what the fuck

- me: duh, it's in the Constitution
- mom: lol, where does it say that?
- me: FREEDOM TO ASSEMBLE

I WILL NEVER GET OVER THESE
YOU FORGOT “THE LUCK OF THE IRISH”
white people stealing hashtags
She’s kind of right though. Why the fuck would you post some of the things you post on a social media website when you know it could get you in trouble?? It’s kind of stupid how this hashtag even exists. “if they gunned me down”?? Seriously. Don’t get fucking “gunned down” then and fucking act right.
your punk ass needs to learn how to stay in your lane if you start talking about shit with no idea about what context this is in. i’m feeling generous so turn on your signal and pull over to the shoulder of the road and let me break this down.
the #iftheygunnedmedown is not about having a “clean” social media profile. it’s about how the media and police jump to justify the murder of innocent black people—think about the images that are circulating right now around Ferguson. They post pictures of Michael Brown where he had the peace sign and wrote that it was a gang sign. They lied and said he stole from a convenience store—the store owners had to come forward and explain that Brown never stole anything! They claim the people protesting in the streets are yelling “Kill the police” when they’re really shouting “No justice, no peace”. They are trying to justify his death by spreading lies instead of admitting that the police officer (who is on paid leave BTW) killed an innocent person. The media is trying to portray Michael Brown as another nameless black thug, the kind that no one should care about to cloak the white supremacy that continues to exist in this country today.
Michael Brown was a good kid. He was going to college. He had friends and family who loved him. And so did the other black people (Jordan Davis, Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, and many other who are too numerous to name—too numerous! I’m not joking. Go look them up) who dared to commit the crime of exist on this earth while black.
That is what this hashtag is about. It’s about the lies people will spread about you to justify your death. If you come in here talking about respectability, I’m going to remind me you that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr marched in a suit, gave a non violent message, and was still portrayed in the media as someone dangerous. They called him a as a rebel-rowser and radical minister who only wanted to cause trouble between the races.
Don’t tell them to not get gunned down. Tell the people with the guns to not shoot.
So I go to use the (girls) bathroom in my dorm. And the stall I always use is just
